Matcha Banana Smoothie
Inspired by my love for matcha frappuccinos, this thick smoothie is made of bananas and matcha and sweetened with honey! It's naturally dairy-free and contains 9 grams of protein per serving.
Prep Time5 minutes mins
Total Time5 minutes mins
Servings: 2 Medium
- 4 frozen bananas
- 4 ice cubes
- 1-1.5 tablespoon matcha*
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- ¾ cup milk almond, oat, cow, or whatever is your favourite!
- 1 tablespoon honey
Chop the frozen banana into large chunks.
Place all the ingredients into a high power blender and blend until smooth. Stop to stir as needed, or use a blender tamper to push the banana into the blade.
(If you find the smoothie too thick or your blender is not high power, you can add more until you find the right consistency, about ¼ cup at a time.)
Place matcha blend into 2 medium cups and enjoy!
Matcha: Start with 1 tablespoon of matcha and add more as desired. See notes above in the blog post about using ceremonial grade vs culinary grade.
Using fresh bananas: The consistency will be different without frozen bananas, however, if you don't have frozen bananas use fresh bananas and 10 ice cubes total to make this a thick cold smoothie.
