Notes

Frozen fruit ideas: Strawberries, mango, pineapple, blueberries, mixed berries, or tropical fruit (nutritional details in blog post). Use 2.5 cups of one of these fruits, or mix and match your favorite fruit (make sure it's frozen for the best texture!)
Dairy free: Use dairy-free milk to make this dairy free.
Coconut water or orange juice: Replace the milk with coconut water for a more tropical flavor! Or orange juice for a sweeter taste.
Thick Smoothie: Add more frozen fruit until it's your desired consistency. It’s best to use a high-power blender with a tamper to push frozen fruit into the blade. You can also use a high-power food processor if it's better quality than your blender.
Thinner smoothie: Add more milk into the blender until it's your desired consistency. Or use fresh fruit instead of frozen fruit.
Kale and other greens: These can be used instead of spinach in this green smoothie!
Supplements and protein powder: This is a great smoothie to add your nutrient booster or protein powder to.
To double: This smoothie can easily be made for more than 2 servings. You can simply double all the ingredients, or if you want to quickly make a bit more, just add another banana.
Prep in advance: Make the smoothie, then freeze the smoothie in jars with a lid. Take the smoothie out of the freezer to let it thaw a couple of hours before you want to have it. This will last in your freezer for up to three months.
Leftover smoothie: Freeze this green smoothie into a popsicle mold to enjoy later. Or freeze this smoothie into ice cubes and add 1-3 in your next smoothies.
