I feel like the luckiest girl alive to live in a country where peaches grow! Every summer, I make a trip to the orchard town to get a pounds and pounds of peaches. Hot tip: If you buy 'seconds' or ones that are slowly going bad, they'll give them to you for way cheaper! I do that so I can have a bunch of peaches in my freezer.
I've made mango peach popsicles and simple oatmeal peach muffins, and a recipe for fresh peach cookies. I just realized I didn't have a peach smoothie recipe on my website, though, and we make peach smoothies all winter long since they're in our freezer - so this is about time I share.
Key Ingredients

- Frozen peaches: Frozen peaches make this smoothie extra cold and refreshing. The best way to freeze your peaches is to split them in half, remove the pit, and put them on a cookie sheet in halves or quarters to freeze. Once they're fully frozen, put them in a bag so that they don't stick together. I haven't made this recipe with fresh peaches, or canned peaches but if you do so, use either frozen bananas instead of fresh ones or add 4-6 ice cubes.
- Banana: I like to use fresh banana for this recipe, but if you want it extra thick, you could use frozen banana. You may just need to add a little bit extra milk, or let them sit on the counter a few minutes to soften before you blend it.
- Cardamom and cinnamon: I love to add a little spice to my smoothies because I think it elevates it by the way, that's not always thought about, but it's so easy! Cardamom can be more expensive. If you don't have any in your cupboard, you could skip it or use a chai spice blend if you have that.
- Greek yogurt: I like adding yogurt to my smoothies because it increases the protein and keeps me full longer. For this recipe, I don't add it to the blender, but I smear it in the cup to make a cool, pretty design. Be sure to use Greek yogurt, as it's so much thicker and will stick to the sides of your glass.
Danika's Tips to upgrade your smoothie
- To make this the perfect breakfast: I would make this extra thick by using frozen bananas and frozen peaches. Blend it in a high-power blender and pour it into a bowl, then top it with homemade granola.
- Increase the protein: My favorite way to increase the protein in a smoothie is by adding 1-2 tablespoons of hemp hearts. A scoop of protein powder would also also work great and make it higher in protein.
- Add some greens: My opinion is that smoothies are one of the best ways to increase the vegetables and fruits we're eating in a day. I love adding raw spinach or raw kale to my smoothies, and that would work perfectly in this peach smoothie also.
How to make a frozen peach smoothie
Follow the photos from my kitchen to make your very gourmet peach smoothie.

Step 1: Place the banana in the bottom of the blender with the milk. Then add the frozen peaches on top, and the cinnamon and cardamom on top of the peaches so that they don't go on the sides of the blender.

Step 2: Start your blender on low and then turn to high speed. Blend until it's fully blended, 30 seconds to a minute. If your peaches are really big, you may need a bit more time.

Step 3: Use a tablespoon to scoop a little bit of yogurt and spread it on the sides of your glass to make a pretty looking swoosh. This works better with thick Greek yogurt.

Step 4: Slowly pour the peach smoothie into your glass until it's all the way full. Enjoy it with a straw.
Peach smoothie FAQ's
If you're making a peach smoothie, I think the fruit that pairs best with it is banana. I also think other delicate-flavored fruits, like strawberries, oranges, cantaloupe, or mango are a good option.
Yes, you can peel your peach before putting it in a smoothie. I recommend this if you have a regular blender. If you have a high-power blender, I wouldn't worry about removing the skin because there are good nutrients in it, and it will blend so well you won't realize it's in there! But when including the peach skin in your smoothie be sure to wash the peach first.
Yes, you can make a peach smoothie without a banana. For any recipe that calls for a banana in a smoothie, you could substitute ½ cup of yogurt, raw zucchini, or applesauce.

I created an eCookbook for prepping snacks! This was designed to set aside a block of time weekly or monthly to batch prep wholesome snacks.
